Lovely homely guest house. Owners are very friendly. Breakfast is great and there is plenty of choice. Lots of little personal touches in the room such as fudge, biscuits, hot chocolate and the usual tea and coffee. Will definitely be back.

Very welcoming visit

At the end of our C2C ride, we arrived at No.61 and were greeted with a huge smile by the owner (Steven), and advised on how to secure our bikes in their private yard. Steven could immediately tell that we were both in need of subsistence, and then helpfully advised us on the local restaurant offerings, he then proceeded to book us a table and gave us clear directions to the restaurant. He then showed us to our room, pointing out the facilities. The rooms are modern and decorated to high standard, fresh and linen and towels were provided, and we were given our own front door key to come and go as we pleased. The beds are very comfortable, and although the guest house is located in central location in the town we found the street noise to be minimal and quite pleasant – the atmosphere in Tynemouth is thriving, providing plenty of eateries and outside dining and drinking. Steven has also put in a lot of thought into the COVID-19 mitigations, ensuring that there was plenty of hand-sanitiser at main entry points. The following morning, breakfast was served – a good selection of cereals were provided, and a full cooked breakfast, yogurts and fruits. I would have no hesitation in staying at no.61 again – this guest house is of a very high standard.

Stayed at Number 61 while walking The Hadrian's Wall Way. Very clean and comfortable rooms and had a delicious cooked breakfast. The proprietors were very friendly and obviously take great pride in their work. Thoroughly recommended.

Great first stop on the cross country Hadrian's Wall Walk.
Lovely B&B close to the sea front. Hosts are very polite and attentive without ever being intrusive. Rooms are clean and nice. Breakfast was lovely and served in a cozy room. For those concerned about Covid-19 precautions they have measures in place. Nice place, nice people and a lovely little town. The perfect place to start exploring from.
